Michael Hyatt

Michael Hyatt is the Executive Chairman of Bluecat and an active Investor. He is a weekly business commentator on CBC News Network and one of the new “Dragons” on CBC’s Next Gen Den – Dragon’s Den. Michael is also a member of the G7 Team at the Rotman School of Management Creative Destruction Lab and on the CEO Board of Advisors at Georgian Partners. Michael also co-founded Dyadem, a highly successful software company that was acquired by IHS (NYSE: IHS). He is also a finalist in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award, a recipient of the Top 40 Under 40™ Award and Chairs his families’ charitable foundation. Michael works with the National Speakers Bureau.

Amber Kanwar is an Anchor and Reporter at Business News Network. Amber is a homegrown product of the BNN newsroom, working her way up from intern, to segment producer, and now to anchor. She specializes in equity markets and is constantly digging for stocks flying under the radar, trends that are about to emerge, and curating research to make it accessible to viewers. She is a leader in breaking news; reporting on Canada’s booming online gaming sector, activist interest in one of Canada’s biggest pipeline companies and one of the most plugged in reporters on the turnaround effort at BlackBerry. Amber has interviewed CEOs from across Canada’s C-Suite including Blackberry’s John Chen, Manulife’s Don Guloien, and Ontario Teacher’s Pension Plan’s Jim Leech to name a few. Prior to joining BNN, Amber completed her Master of Journalism degree at Ryerson University. Brenda Hogan

Senior Investment Manager, Ontario Capital Growth Corporation

Brenda M. Hogan is Senior Investment Manager with the Ontario Capital Growth Corporation (OCGC).  OCGC manages the interest of the Government of Ontario in the $205 million Ontario Venture Capital Fund LP, and the Northleaf Venture Catalyst Fund, a $235 million fund of funds.  OCGC manages and operates the Ontario Emerging Technologies Fund (OETF), a portfolio of 24 high-potential Ontario companies. Previously, Brenda was in corporate, business development, finance, and strategic investing with Bell Canada, Ernst & Young, the Business Development Bank of Canada, and a software start-up. Brenda sits on the Board of Women in Capital Markets. Brenda holds an MBA with a concentration in finance and is a graduate of the Ivey Business School Leadership Program and the Rotman School of Business SME Board Effectiveness Program.

Megh Gupta
Senior Associate, OMERS Ventures

In his role as Senior Associate at OMERS Ventures, Megh Gupta is responsible for helping find and execute on investment opportunities in the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sectors. Prior to joining OMERS Ventures, Megh spent three years in the Strategy and New Ventures team at Torstar Digital, the online division of Canadian media company Torstar. While there, Megh helped develop, launch and lead online businesses in the personal finance and mobile retail shopping sectors. He also helped manage the company’s corporate venturing initiatives and strategic planning activities. Before Torstar Digital, Megh worked in private equity, management consulting, and briefly dabbled in entrepreneurship in India. Megh graduated summa cum laude with an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and also received an HBA from the Ivey Business School. He holds a CPA accounting designation.
